PRESS: Sibur asks govt to freeze petrochemical raw material prices

MOSCOW, Apr 5 (PRIME) -- Petrochemical company Sibur has suggested the government freeze the ruble prices for materials used in the petrochemical industry, business daily Kommersant reported on Tuesday citing a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Sibur estimated the effect from the ruble rate change on the operating cash flow in 2022 at 180–200 billion rubles. The share of raw materials in the prime cost of Sibur's products amounted to 55% in October–December 2021. Sibur uses associated petroleum gas, light hydrocarbon fraction, liquefied petroleum gases and naphtha.

The company asked to set the prices at a three-month average before February 22 and adjust them to inflation.
